Mariano Silletti (Pisticci, IT, 1972) is a freelance photographer within the documentary and storytelling world. 

He lives and works in Matera (South Italy).

He realizes long-term projects with a focus on exploring the human condition within every day and ordinary urban environments.

His projects have been published in international magazines (Burn, Gup, Vieworld, La Repubblica and many others).

In 2012 he was a finalist for the Leica Talent Italy and two years later, in 2014, his project “Domus Sapiens” was selected as the best work of the Leica Talent Italy. 

In 2015 he was a finalist at Siena International Photography Award. In the same year, one of his most well-known works, “Ludovicu”, was awarded at the Festival of Ethical Photography of Lodi and the Moscow International Photo Awards and it has been exhibited in Matera at the National Museum of Medieval and Contemporary Art of Palazzo Lanfranchi (the most important museum of Basilicata), becoming also a self-produced book in a limited edition (300 copies).
